Recreational Track

Recreational Track programs at MetroRock Littleton allow youth climbers to explore the sport in a fun, supportive, low-pressure environment. These programs are a great option for anyone who is new to the sport and looking to learn basic climbing skills and techniques while having fun with their peers.

These programs are comparable to extracurriculars and are non-competitive in nature.

Little Pebbles (Ages 3 - 5)

Parents must stay for entire duration of program.

Sundays from 9:30 -10:30 AM

Little Pebbles is for climbers ages 5 and under that are looking to experience climbing for just an hour at a time with guidance from an instructor. Classes will be filled with climbing games and activities to help participants develop spacial awareness and fine motor skills while introducing them to the sport and getting them acquainted to being in a climbing environment.

First Practice of the year starts on Sunday September 10th.

New participants must complete sign-up and payment by the first practice of the month. If the first practice of the month is missed for sign-ups, the participant must wait until the following month before starting this program.

Climbing Club (Ages 6+)

Climbing Club 1 (ages 6 - 9)

Sunday and Tuesday from 4:00 - 5:30 PM

Climbing Club 2 (ages 10+)

Sunday and Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Climbing Club is a 4-week, twice-weekly curriculum for climbers who have never received any formal climbing instruction and want to learn the basics of the sport while climbing in a group with guidance from an instructor. This program is designed with specific learning objectives and goals that build upon each other over the course of the session to create a solid foundation of climbing skills and prepare participants for future programs at MetroRock Littleton. Climbing Club participants are urged to continue on to Rec Team once they complete a session of Climbing Club.

Participants will be taught gym safety and be introduced to a variety of climbing skill through specific drills and activities.

  3. January 2nd - January 30th (no practice January 14th)

  4. February 25th - March 19th

  5. March 26th - April 30th (no practice March 31st, April 14th, April 16th)

Recreational Team (Ages 6 +)*

Prerequisite: Climbing Club 1, 2, or 3

Rec Team 1 (6 - 9) | Friday from 4:00 - 5:30 PM

Rec Team 2 (10 - 12) | Monday or Friday  from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Rec Team 3 (13+) | Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Recreational Team allows youth climbers who have completed Climbing Club to continue developing their skills in a fun, supportive, low-pressure environment. Recreational Teams are non-competitive and are a great option for those who want to focus on building confidence and exploring different climbing styles while working towards building strength and achieving individualized goals.

This team is a great option for anyone who enjoys climbing recreationally or athletes who participate in multiple sports or extracurricular activities and need flexibility in their schedules to support these other commitments. 

First Practice of the Year starts on Monday September 11th.
