Get acquainted with being in a climbing environment.

  • Learn climbing skills for bouldering and auto belays through games and structured activities

  • Develop motor skills and listening skills

Pre Rec

Ages 7 - 12

A 4 week introduction to climbing terms, gym etiquette, technique, and safety.

  • Prepare to join a climbing team at MetroRock

  • Focus on bouldering, auto belays, gym safety and etiquette

  • 1:4 Coach to athlete ratio

  • 2 hours of instruction per week

Novice

Recreational Team

Ages 7 +

A guided exploration of climbing through a mix of bouldering, roped climbing, and movement drills.

  • Sessions organized by developmental age

  • Learn top rope climbing and belay skills (ages 10 +)

  • Coach to athlete ratio varies based on age range

  • 1 .5 - 2 hours of Instruction per week

Intermediate

Development Team

Ages 8 - 13

Pursue competition climbing and build a strong foundation for long-term competitive success.

  • Training emphasizes discipline-specific skill development, physical preparation, and competition readiness.

Training Team

Ages 13+

Discover your goals and work toward them while developing advanced climbing skills.

  • Learn advanced bouldering and top rope skills

  • Explore opportunities to try lead climbing, outdoor climbing, and competition climbing

  • 1:6 Coach Athlete Ratio

  • 5 hours of instruction/week

  • Minimum 3 month commitment

Advanced

Competition Team

Ages 13+

Prepare for success at Local competitions and performance goals at Regional Championships.

  • Training emphasizes discipline-specific skill development, physical preparation, and support athletes' continued growth within the competitive climbing pathway.

  • Participate in the USA Climbing Youth Competition series

  • 1:6 Coach Athlete Ratio

  • 6 hours of instruction/week

  • September - May Commitment

High Performance Team

Invite Only

Prepare for elite level competition beyond the Divisional-level.

  • Previous competition experience at Divisional and/or National-level required.

  • Focus on advanced competition strategies, movement refinement, mental performance, and event-specific preparation.

  • 9 hours of instruction per week

  • 1:6 Coach Athlete Ratio
